Berdavan is the northeasternmost village of Tavush Province, located in the Noyemberyan municipality just 1 km from the Azerbaijan border. The village has about 3,000 residents and one school. Nearby, on a hilltop, stand the 11th-century Berdavan Fortress and St. Nshan Church. In 2025, the Armenian government renovated the school, while ASF provided 77 sets of desks, teacher desks, coat hangers, and blackboards for seven elementary classrooms serving 154 students. The government furnished the remaining classrooms.
