The Armenia School Foundation (USA) Announces Its Board of Directors, Presents Achievements and Future Plans

Glendale, California April 12, 2007- The Armenia School Foundation (ASF), a non-profit organization dedicated to refurnishing schools in Armenia, announced its new board members during its first public meeting held at Brandview Collection in Glendale.

The new board officers are: Chair- Armen Abrahamian; Vice Chair – Anahid Sarian; Secretary- Annette Kiureghian; and Treasure- Janet Mirzayan. Elected Board advisors or committee chairs are: Vahe Aharonian; Arax Avanessian; Medik Babaloyan; Rafi Kureghian; and Varooj Kureghian.

“It is essential that the ASF Foundation’s Board addresses important constituency needs and opportunities in the future. We are committed to our mission and are ready to face the challenges ahead,” said Armen Abrahamian, chairman of the Board, “one of our priorities is to provide the public with accurate and up-dated information regarding the completion of school projects.”

During the gathering ASF’s Vice Chair- Anahid Sarian announced that close to $250,000 has been raised by ASF in US, since May of 2003. Approximately 60 schools have been refurnished in all regions of Armenia with funds raised by ASF in US, while over 150 schools have benefited by funds collected worldwide.

“We are delighted by the collaboration of efforts with other foundations such as Armenian Education Foundation (AEF), and are hopeful that future partnerships with other organizations will result in positive results” said Mr. Abrahamian, “with our combined efforts and resources we can build powerful partnerships and to improve the lives of so many children and youngsters”

The Armenia School Foundation (ASF) is a non-profit and non-sectarian, 501©3 organization, founded in May 2003. ASF strives to provide new furniture for underprivileged schools in remote regions of Armenia and to enhance the learning process.
