Glendale, California – The Armenia School Foundation (ASF USA), a non-profit organization dedicated to refurnishing remote and small schools in Armenia and Karabagh, is proud to announce the completion of eight additional school projects in 2012.
A total of 150 new student desk/chairs sets, 81 teacher desk/chair sets and 77 blackboards were delivered to the following eight schools:
- Aray village school in Aragatsotn region (Funded by donations to ASF)
- Getap village school in Aragatsotn region (Donations by Hacopian family and friends in memory of Rafik Der Hacopian)
- Ghapan schools #4 and #11 in Sunik region (#4 school project was partially funded by Glendale Ghapan Sister City Association)
- Schools in Antararamut, Baghaghpyur, Vanadzor and Dzunashogh villages in Lori region (Funded by donations to ASF)
“We kicked off the year with a very successful Art Exhibition/fund raiser, launched our annual raffle sales earlier than usual, received a number of generous “In lieu of”, “In memory of“ and other donations (special thanks to Seroj Mesropian and his friends for donating $2,532 of the proceeds of ”Garoon e Galis” dinner/dance), combing the results of these efforts, we were able to raise the $30,615 needed to furnish these eight schools” stated Armen Abrahamian, Chairman of the ASF Board.
“We would like to express our gratitude to our supporters and donors for their continued support, encouragement, and their belief in improving the educational environment of our future generations. We are planning to expand our services and offerings. Next year, we celebrate our 10th anniversary. It anniversary related activities will provide us opportunities to provide more details on our future expanded services” stated Moneh Der Gregorian, Vice Chair of ASF Board.
The Armenia School Foundation (ASF USA) is a nonprofit and non-sectarian, 501c3 organization, founded in May 2003. To date, ASF has provided over 9000 new student and teacher desk/chair sets to 220 schools in remote regions of Armenia and Karabagh.
