Glendale, California October 21, 2007 – The Armenia School Foundation (ASF USA), a non-profit organization dedicated to refurnishing schools in Armenia, hosted a successful fundraising cocktail reception and art show at the Ararat Center.

Vahe Berberian, Samvel Saghatelian, and Vachik Ter Sarkissian (Vachag) brought a variety of wonderful pieces to help raise funds for ASF’s new projects, and contributed a portion of the proceeds to the foundation’s projects. The art show was beautifully coordinated by Aida Babajanian, and supported by ASF’s donors and friends who were delighted by the experience of being amidst a range of collectable art pieces. It also attracted a number of avid fans of the artists who were eager to view their latest collections. “They came to be enchanted by the art work, and were introduced and moved by our mission” said Armen Abrahamian, chairman of the ASF board.

Among many supporters and friends were representatives of Armenian Relief Society (ARS), Armenian Educational Relief Foundation (AERF), American Armenian Chamber of Commerce, and Focus on Children Now. In his welcoming remarks, Mr. Abrahamian gave an update of ASF’s 2007 accomplishments such as delivery of 1,100 sets of new desks and chairs to seven schools in Armenia and Karabagh, and securing donor commitments for 10 school projects for 2008. In addition, ASF Board members met with All Armenian Himnadram Executive Director, Vahe Aghabegian and Vice Minister of Education, Bagrat Yessayan in October to better serve the needs in Armenia. “We have a challenging road ahead of us, but with your continued support, and future collaborations, ASF USA will achieve its goals”. “The reception proved to be a moral and financial success and ASF is especially proud and thankful for the effort and cooperation of all our friends and artists who have worked extremely hard to bring their wonderful art to all of us” stated Armen Abrahamian, chairman of the Board.

The Armenia School Foundation (ASF USA) is a non profit and non-sectarian, 501©3 organization, founded in May 2003.
